Sometimes manufactures want to characterize the parts or assemblies such that they flow at the correct flow rate. This type of testing can be in the lab, or with portable field equipment, or integrated within the production environment. Fritze Dezein has engineered automated equipment for a variety of applications, some examples include:

• Water Treatment Devices – measurement of a part that must flow water at a known rate and within a desired pressure drop. The rate can be simulated with the actual fluid or simulated with air or other gas. Examples of this type test include valve flow performance, flow restricting orifices, and water turbine performance. When it is not practical to use the actual fluid, air or gas may be used to correlate flow performance without the mess and contamination when production testing each device. Various specialized fluid flow meters are used to measure the actual fluid and we integrate them into equipment with fixture and controls to automate to process. 

• Fluid Treatment Media– measurement of the treatment media flow rate under use. The rate can be measured with the actual fluid or simulated with air. Examples of this type of tester include air permeability of individual carbon block elements, air filtration media such as non-woven or pleated, porous sintered plastic, and hollow fiber membranes etc. 

• Respirators and Face masks – measurement of a respiration device requires very precise air regulation and mass flow measurement. We have expertise in regulating positive or negative air pressure with sensitivities of less than .125” [+/-3mm] water and quantifying flow rates less than +/- 5 sccm. These instruments are integrated into testing machines with fixtures and controls to automate the testing process.
